DO NOT LET NURSE CASE MGR. MANIPULATE your DOCTOR's words.

So if you are injured on your job, and have the misfortune to be hurt, and are seriously injured on your job, an injury which requires ongoing medical treatment, and causes you to be out of work for months at a time, it is quite likely that the insurance company will assign a nurse case manager to assist you with your medical treatment.  Those folks can be helpful in scheduling appointments and helping you get your prescription medications filled, and things of that nature.  On the other hand, you need to understand that those nurse case managers are paid for by the insurance companies, and are working to save the insurance company and or your employer money $.  That is, pay you less in your workers' compensation case.  You have the right when you go to your doctor that is treating you for your injury to have a private interview-discussion and examination.  You should never let the nurse case manager come into the examining room while your doctor is examining you and you are having a discussion about your treatment with your doctor.  Many times they will stand up and go back with the injured worker when the receptionist calls the injured worker's name.  You have the right to tell them to sit down.  Now after the doctor has examined you, the nurse case manager can talk to the doctor, but only in your presence.  Never let the nurse case manager talk to a doctor outside of your presence.  If you need more information about this or wish to have a free consultation concerning your workers' compensation case, please contact us via our website or
